Ready Rock C .. Bio
Ready Rock C is one of Hip Hop's Original Beat Box Pioneers. His birth name is Clarence D. Holmes born 1968 in the City of Philadelphia. He resided in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia and attended Philadelphia public Schools.
He later transferred to private school and earned his High School Diploma.
After graduating from school Ready Rock’s career began quickly with a recording contract from Jive Records. In 1988 his first recording contract was signed along with Will Smith and Jeff Townes. This formed the foundation of the group named “DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince” Featuring Ready Rock C as a founder.
Although Ready Rock C was kept in the background, he did much more than seen on the surface. He is a drummer and percussionist who wrote songs on the groups first two albums. One of the songs he co-wrote named “Parents Just Don’t Understand was the trio’s first mega hit.
Ready Rock also writes Gospel and Inspirational music.
He is the Certified MULTI PLATINUM Artist behind the Smash hit "Parents Just Don’t Understand" performed by Will Smith. He co-wrote and pioneered this song which ignited Will Smith's entertainment career. Ready Rock C is one of the world’s first Hip Hop artists to win a GRAMMY AWARD. He has also won an AMERICAN MUSIC and MTV AWARDS. He is known for his inventive Beat Boxing all over the world. Ready Rock has toured and performed with Hip Hop Icons, including Run-DMC, LL Cool J, Slick Rick, Doug E. Fresh, Biz Markie, KRS 1, The 2 Live Crew, Eric B and Rakim, Public Enemy, EPMD, Kid and Play, Heavy D, Salt N Pepa, Whodini, UTFO and more. He has played all over the world! Ready has also collaborated and recorded with Steven Ford on the “WINANS CHRISTMAS PROJECT” aired on FOX TV. Last but not least, He has debut on the E! Channel for Episodes “It’s GOOD TO BE WILL AND JADA” and “TRUE HOLLYWOOD STORY”.
After retiring from his entertainment career, Clarence settled into marriage and later Fathered 4 children. He then furthered his education receiving his Bachelors in Business, a Professional Pennsylvania Real Estate and Notary Public License.
